Simon Fox

Appointed to the Board on 4 September 2006. Previously Chief Operating Officer of Kesa Electricals plc, with responsibility for Comet in the UK, Kesa’s subsidiaries in Continental Europe and e-commerce developments, covering approximately 350 stores and over £2bn of sales. As Managing Director, led Comet through its demerger from Kingfisher, establishing the chain’s leadership of the online electricals market and the transition of the brand from a price-led to a service-based proposition. Joined Kingfisher in 1998, holding a variety of senior roles, including CEO Electricals. Prior to Kingfisher, he was founder of Office World, the UK’s first out-of-town office supplies retailer. Began his career as a graduate trainee at Security Pacific Bank, followed by Boston Consulting Group and Sandhurst Marketing plc.

Neil Bright

Group Finance Director
Appointed to the Board as Finance Director on 27 March 1998. He is a Chartered Accountant, having trained and qualified with Coopers & Lybrand in London. Mr Bright joined HMV in August 1996 as Group Finance Director from its parent company, Thorn EMI plc, where he was Group Planning Manager.

Gerry Johnson

Managing Director, Waterstone's
Appointed to the Board on 26 July 2007. Became Managing Director of Waterstone's on 1 October 2005. Started in retail as a part-time employee at Tesco whilst still at school, later joining Tesco full-time. Became Manager of a Tesco superstore in 1985. Furthered his career by joining Allied Maples, part of the Asda Group, becoming a member of its Executive Board. Later ran Wickes' successful renewal programme. Spent four years in charge of the £3.5 billion Booker wholesale operation.
